Drilling & Mining
Bentonite for drilling fluids and geotechnical applications
Indicative grades for water-well drilling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), mining works, and oil & gas exploration. Rheology and filtration control parameters — subject to third-party certification (in progress).
Applications
Drilling bentonite is used to prepare circulation fluids in water-well and oil-well drilling, providing lubrication, cuttings transport, stable circulation, and borehole wall protection. For HDD, it forms a filter cake that stabilises the borehole wall. Parameters evaluated by buyers typically include viscosity (600/300 rpm), yield point, filtrate loss, and sand content.
